Arati
Warrier
Tutor at Wes Carroll Tutoring & Coaching
A former gifted kid turned classroom teacher, Arati knows exactly how smart students get stuck — and exactly how to get them moving again.
Arati has spent her career on both sides of the desk. First as a student navigating the particular pressures of being “the smart one,” then as a classroom educator learning to reach every kind of learner. That dual perspective shapes everything she does. She works with students in 5th–12th grade across literacy, writing, test prep, and executive function.
Arati’s biography
Teaching Philosophy
Arati starts from a simple premise: every student is intelligent. What varies is motivation, confidence, and strategy, and those are all coachable.
Her job isn’t to hand students answers. It’s to build the scaffolding they need to eventually not need her. That means metacognition, practice, and modeling, until the student owns the skill, trusts themselves to use it, and is actually excited to try hard things.
Personal Approach
Before the work begins, there’s always connection. Arati starts by figuring out what each student brings to the table: strengths, anxieties, interests. Then she builds from there.
She also communicates early and often with parents and caregivers. No surprises. No ambiguity. And when students make real progress? She makes sure they know it.

Your pathway to success with Arati involves
Start with strengths
Arati builds confidence first, identifying what you’re already good at and using that as the launchpad for everything harder.
Build toward independence
She won’t just show you how to do the thing. She’ll teach you how to teach yourself, so the skills stick long after the session ends.
Take smart risks
Arati creates the kind of environment where trying something difficult and failing is part of the process, not a verdict on who you are.
