MATH COMPETITION COACHING
The competitive edge elite colleges demand
Grades aren’t enough anymore
For students aiming for top-tier colleges, grades and test scores don’t cut it. Math competitions create the spike that admissions officers at elite schools actually look for.
Geniuses don’t cram formulas, they master patterns.
Through our coaching, your student will achieve measurably better competition results—typically improving AMC scores by 15-30 points and dramatically increasing their odds of AIME qualification.
Over 60% of our students who commit to a full preparation cycle qualify for AIME, compared to just 5% nationally.
The wins go beyond scores. Your student will develop strategic thinking and problem-solving skills that open doors to elite schools and set them apart from other bright students with similar GPAs.
This is the primary varsity sport of the academic world. We’ll help your student use it to strengthen their college application and build skills that matter long after admissions decisions arrive.
What you get
Concrete results: higher scores, AIME qualification, and a genuine competitive advantage for college admissions.
If your student plans to tackle these tests:
- AMC 8
- AMC 10
- AMC 12
- AIME
- USAMTS
They’ll need more than classroom math.
Geniuses don’t brain it harder, they strategize smarter.
AMC problems go far beyond typical schoolwork, demanding pattern recognition and adaptive thinking that traditional classrooms don’t teach. Our one-on-one coaching provides focused preparation where competition-specific skills can be learned, practiced, and mastered.
After 20+ years coaching students to AIME qualification and beyond, we know exactly what separates qualifiers from participants.
The patterns. The strategic shortcuts. The mental frameworks that competition winners use.
Results without the grind
We don’t believe in overwhelming students. We teach pattern recognition and strategic preparation—so they work smarter, not just harder.
Your student can pursue competition success while maintaining balance.
The goal is to strengthen their application, not sacrifice everything else.

What people say about our math
competition coaching service
“Not only did my daughter’s confidence in math improve significantly, but she also became much more proactive and clear in identifying the areas she needed help with. In the beginning, she was unsure of what she didn’t understand, but over time, she gained mastery of the concepts and became more focused during her sessions. I’m so grateful for the support Quinn provided in helping her develop both her math skills and self-confidence.”
Paige and Jen N.
Parent: “Thank you, you’ve been amazing. You’ve really had a huge impact on him. Everything that’s changed has been because of him growing and responding to you. We really appreciate it – it means a lot to us.”
Student: “Working with you last year made a huge difference. Now, it’s so much easier for me to sit down and know exactly what I need to study and how to study it. Thank you.”
Kiyan, Lori, and Kaveh V.
“Thanks for all the support for Shiven, you have been a wonderful mentor and guide for him and we are so blessed that Shiven had a chance to learn with you in his academic journey (…) It’s great to have open conversations with you, Quinn, because you’re truly our eyes and ears. The extra time you spend with Shiven gives us valuable insights into his progress, something we lacked before. In the past, we never knew if he was getting value from his sessions, but with you, we have full confidence that he’s receiving the support he needs. We really appreciate your transparency and dedication.”

What is the AMC, and why does it matter?
The AMC (American Mathematics Competitions) helps top students stand out in college admissions. Success in the AMC—particularly qualifying for AIME—creates a meaningful spike that elite universities recognize and value. It can lead to training to represent the USA in the International Math Olympiad, one of many ways this activity yields concrete recognition by admissions officers.
What is the AIME, and why does it matter?
The AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Examination) is the next level after the AMC. Only the top 5% of AMC participants qualify nationally, making AIME qualification a significant achievement that strengthens college applications. For students targeting elite schools, AIME qualification demonstrates mathematical ability beyond what grades and test scores can show. Being invited to participate is an admissions “gold star.”
How do I know if my student is a good candidate for math competition coaching?
If your student is aiming for highly selective colleges and performs well in math (typically earning As in advanced courses), they’re likely a strong candidate. They don’t need to self-identify as “math kids”—we’ve coached many students who initially saw themselves as stronger in other subjects but discovered they could excel in competitions with the right strategies.
What results can we expect from Math Competition Coaching?
Most of our committed students succeed at qualifying for the AIME, earning a significant admissions “gold star.”
Students who commit to consistent preparation typically improve their AMC scores by 15-30 points. Over 60% of our students who complete a full preparation cycle qualify for AIME, compared to just 5% nationally. Beyond scores, students develop problem-solving confidence and strategic thinking skills that serve them throughout their academic careers.
How long does it take to prepare for the AMC?
Most students benefit from 3-6 months of focused preparation before their first competition. Students aiming for AIME qualification often work with us for a full academic year or longer, building skills progressively across multiple competition cycles.
How is your program different from other math tutoring services?
We specialize exclusively in competition mathematics, not classroom math. Our coaches have 20+ years of experience preparing students specifically for AMC and AIME success. We teach pattern recognition, strategic problem-solving, and efficient preparation methods that traditional math tutoring doesn’t address. Plus, we focus on smart preparation that builds momentum without burnout.
